There is a noticable difference between the birth rate in countries with a high catholic population compared to nations which do not a a notable Catholic population.
Still, it is difficult to blame this on religion considering the demographic and economical difference between the countries.
Nations with a high number of catholics does also have a higher birth rate with one exception.
Since birth control is not recommended in Catholic countries, this is probably one of the reasons why they have a higher birth rate compared to the other countries.
There is an obvious connection to birth rate and infant mortality.
The Catholic countries with their high birth rate does also have a high number of infant mortality.
Before I looked at the statistics I expected to see a strong connection between the number of years spent in school and infant mortality. I thought that people with little education would have a higher infant mortality rate, but that does not seem to be the case. The
numbers tells us that this is random both in catholic countries and countries with fewer Catholics.

After comparing Catholic countries to other countries I have experiened that there are both similarities and differences. The catholic countries have higher birth rates and infant mortality, which probably has a lot to do with birth control. The school life expectancy seems to be random and does not have an obvious connection to religion, infant mortality and birth rate.
I found my statistics using the CIA World Factbook.
